I’ve just watched a BBC programme (broadcast on BBC1 at 23:15 on Wednesday 12th Sept – just in case you wish to watch on iPlayer – not sure that you can do this outside of the UK) that I recorded. It was called “Rosh Hashanah: Science versus Religion”.

In the programme Rabbi Jonathan Sacks meets Richard Dawkins and they manage to agree that ‘true science and true religion’ are both seaching and need not be enemies; that science searches for ‘how’, but religion for ‘why.’

He gets a similar discussion with two other notable scientists (whose names I didn’t try to record) one a brain scientist and one a physicist… with similar outcomes.

Food for thought?
